Freefall
Adventures, Florida is based in the beautiful location of Lake Wales,
Florida. Located just 45 minutes south of Orlando and all the main
Florida attractions such a Disney World, Epcot, Wet n Wild, Pleasure
Island and the immensely popular Skyventure Wind Tunnel.
Lake
Wales is set among the rolling hills of Polk County, and has a National
Historic District that features art galleries and antique shops,
along with a series of beautiful murals depicting the history of
the area. In addition to a very nice 2.25-mile hiking/biking path
along the shores of Lake Wales, there are more than 250 acres of
public parks and athletic fields within the city limits. Just 15
miles east of Lake Wales is Lake Kissimmee State Park, which has
nearly 6,000 acres that are outstanding for hiking, fishing, boating,
picnicking, camping and bird watching. Other attractions in Lake
Wales include Spook Hill, where objects appear to defy the laws
of gravity, and Chalet Suzanne, a storybook inn that is a National
Register Building, nestled on small Lake Suzanne among citrus groves.
Lake Wales is the perfect place for your skydiving adventure.
We’re also just 15 minutes from Winter
Haven. This city has officially adopted the slogan “The Chain
of Lakes City,” and is widely recognized as the water skiing
capital of the world. Winter Haven’s city limits touch or
surround 41 lakes with a unique 16-lake southern chain and 9-lake
northern chain connected by navigable canals. In fact, any spot
in Winter Haven is within a few steps of a freshwater lake or canal.
Polk County includes a total of 550 lakes. This makes it a boating
paradise. Public boat ramps are scattered along lakeshores, some
in conjunction with beaches, fishing piers, recreational facilities
and picnic areas. Besides outdoor recreation, places to visit in
Winter Haven include the Cypress Gardens, which features lush botanical
gardens, water ski shows, floral festivals and reptile and bird
shows. The Water Ski Museum and Hall of Fame is also located in
Winter Haven and includes displays, paintings and information about
water skiing’s pioneers and stars. Bok Tower Gardens is located
southeast of town, and its majestic carillon tower stands on the
highest point in Florida.
